This group of Hargrett's originated from Wakulla County, Florida. Leon and Lucinda were married in 1915. To the union, 1 daughter and 9 boys were born. They lived in Wakulla County on the road which is now the Lower Bridge Road in Wakulla County, Florida. Leon, Sr. was a carpenter and Lucinda was a housekeeper. They were very faithful members of the Thessalonia Missionary Baptist church, where their son Leon is a deacon today. Leon and Lucinda instilled in their children a solid foundation in Christ. Lucinda was instrumental in establishing a church choir. She was also the Director of the Sunday school. As time went along, their oldest child, Dorothy moved to Chicago, Illinois working for the postal service. She eventually moved her parents their in 1948, where they lived until 1972.
